Drop Leaf Table Project
Fifi talks us through her project-
I’m going to start this commission this morning. I am going to stain it first to stop any stain coming through from the grain underneath.
Back in the work shop this morning and the Zinsser Bin is now all dry and has sealed the wood an now I’m going to start painting with the Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint, first coat all over, lots of barley twists.
Even after sealing this piece of furniture with the Primer Zinsser Bin the stain is still coming through. I’m going to go over it with country grey which will help to minimize that affect, so fingers crossed.
Old white paint is now dry so here we go now with the Country Grey.
Country Grey now painted, and anyone who paints barley twist legs will be feeling my pain, gosh there’s a lot of painting with barley twists. Anyway, it is already now for distressing as of tomorrow.
Wow that takes a while but now all the barley twists are all sanded and distressed and the underside is done too. So now it is just time to put the soft wax on and then I’ll flip it over and do the same on the top.
So the little drop leaf barley twist table, all finished and distressed. Just left it in my lounge now for the wax to dry, but actually I’m quite pleased with that.
