We were so excited to have a visit from my good friend Matthew Ward, Historian with History Needs You.  I met Matthew on the live broadcasting app Periscope and we have become firm friends.  Matthew broadcasts from many sites of historic interest and he has been so supportive with our new shop.  You can hear his take on the history of our building here.  We have so many wonderful old features in our shop which Matthew explains.

Fifi’s Fancy Furniture are delighted to announce that we will be taking over the Wotton Gallery at 42, Long Street, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 7BT from the ****1st March!*****

It will be so good to be in the heart of things and back in shop premises again.

As many of you will know, The Gallery is an historic building full of character and beautifully decorated which is the perfect backdrop for displaying our eclectic mix of new, up-cycled and painted furniture and objet d’art.

We do also sell the amazing Frenchic Chalk Paint.

The additional space will enable us to run courses in furniture painting, social media and decorative decoy carving.

We will also provide space in the workshop area for people to pre-book to come along and paint their own pieces of furniture using our products and materials whilst having Fifi on hand for guidance and her expertise if required.

So do please pop in and see us to say hello once we are open. You will be made to feel most welcome.

It only remains to say a big THANK YOU for the overwhelming support we’ve received from the lovely people of Wotton
See you soon,
Fifi and Ginny

We are delighted to be supporting the “Painting Gloucestershire Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign” this week, in September 2016. All our fellow traders have made a fabulous effort to decorate their windows.

“>We are delighted to announce that we are now proud stockists of the Frenchic Furniture Paint.
As our friends at French Furniture Paint so eloquently put it
“Frenchic Furniture Paint & Wax is a fabulous new Chalk and Mineral paint coming in 45 lush colours. It paints like a dream, the wax glides on easily (and you don’t need nearly so much). The great thing apart from being a gorgeous paint is it has NO VOC’s, and NO SMELL. It is an all natural paint being non toxic, solvent free and totally eco-friendly. We also sell fabulous Italian brushes, ideal for painting a la shabby chic!”

Drop Leaf Table Project

Fifi talks us through her project-
I’m going to start this commission this morning. I am going to stain it first to stop any stain coming through from the grain underneath.
Back in the work shop this morning and the Zinsser Bin is now all dry and has sealed the wood an now I’m going to start painting with the Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint, first coat all over, lots of barley twists.
Even after sealing this piece of furniture with the Primer Zinsser Bin the stain is still coming through. I’m going to go over it with country grey which will help to minimize that affect, so fingers crossed.
Old white paint is now dry so here we go now with the Country Grey.
Country Grey now painted, and anyone who paints barley twist legs will be feeling my pain, gosh there’s a lot of painting with barley twists. Anyway, it is already now for distressing as of tomorrow.
Wow that takes a while but now all the barley twists are all sanded and distressed and the underside is done too. So now it is just time to put the soft wax on and then I’ll flip it over and do the same on the top.
So the little drop leaf barley twist table, all finished and distressed. Just left it in my lounge now for the wax to dry, but actually I’m quite pleased with that.
